Get Involved!

Wisconsin Girls Rugby is committed to growing the sport within the state. If you are currently unaffiliated with a club, but would like to get involved, please consider joining us a player, coach, referee, or volunteer. Contact the league president, Betsy Wendelberger, WendelbergerE@gmail.com) for more information.

Player

Any high school student interested in joining rugby (even if they have no prior experience!) should consider participating in either our fall (15s) or spring (7s) season. Girls must play for their high school or closest community club.

Coach

The league is looking to pair those new to the coaching ranks (or even rugby!) with teams looking to develop assistant coaches. Those with some experience looking to be head coaches should fill a head coaching vacancy (if one exists) or will be given league assistance to start a new program.

Referee

Anyone interested in joining the ranks of the state’s referee society will be paired with teams hosting exhibitions and intrasquad scrimmages that would like to offer the opportunity for new refs to gain some experience refereeing the sport.

Volunteeer

The WGR is always looking for people to help organize tournaments, create/run/participate in skills development camps, and assist in league or team administrative duties.

Let’s build something together.
