After a year-long process to improve league branding, the league voted to approve the new logo (and alternate logos) at the summer league meeting.
The concept of the logo is centered on a robin, Wisconsin’s state bird. The league wanted to use the bird in a way to represent the state, but they also liked the colors black and orange because they were tough and not used in concert by any WGR member team. The league wanted the bird to look “tough” but also include an element of rugby; therefore, a rugby ball was integrated into the design of the bird’s chest.
The final design was created by Hamilton High School senior Katie Scaffidi who serves as the head of marketing for Hamilton RFC.
